RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 650 Vacancies

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Assistants for the Panel Year 2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill 650 vacancies across various regional offices of the Bank. Age Limit (as on 01/02/2026)

Candidates must fall within the following age brackets:

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
  • (Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/02/1998 and not later than 01/02/2006).

Upper Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years (General/EWS), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
  • Ex-Servicemen: Extent of service rendered in Armed Forces plus 3 years, maximum up to 50 years.
  • Widows/Divorced Women: Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST).

Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (Pass Class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the aggregate.
  • Knowledge of word processing on a Personal Computer is essential.
  • Candidates must be proficient in the language (read, write, speak, and understand) of the state or any of the states falling under the recruiting office.
  • Ex-servicemen should either be graduates from a recognised University or should have passed the matriculation or equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.

Application Fee

The application fee and intimation charges are non-refundable. GST of 18% is applicable in addition to the charges mentioned below:

Salary and Allowances

Selected candidates will receive a competitive salary package as per RBI norms:

  • Basic Pay: ₹29,000/- per month in the scale of ₹29,000-78,640.
  • Gross Emoluments: Approximately ₹58,514/- per month (excluding HRA).
  • Other Benefits: Reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, newspaper, briefcase, book grant, allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. Dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses, interest-free festival advance, Leave Fare Concession (LFC), and loans at concessional interest rates.

Selection Process

The selection for the post of Assistant will be conducted in three successive stages:

  • Preliminary Examination: Objective type test of 100 marks (60 minutes).
  • Main Examination: Objective type test of 200 marks (135 minutes).
  • Language Proficiency Test (LPT): The test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned. It is qualifying in nature.
  • Final Selection: Based on the performance in the Main Examination and qualifying in the LPT, followed by document verification and medical fitness.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates can apply for vacancies in one office only and will have to opt for the online test (both Preliminary and Main) from a centre within the same state.
