Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
  • Candidates with professional qualifications like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Cost Accountant are also eligible.

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank (as on 31.12.2025).
  • Candidates from private banks (other than PSBs/RRBs) must have a minimum annual gross salary of Rs. 9.50 lacs.

Age Limit (As on 31.12.2025)

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 30 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10-15 years) as per Government rules.

Salary and Allowances

The starting basic pay is Rs. 48,480/- in the scale of 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. Candidates will receive two advance increments for their prior experience. Officers are also eligible for DA, HRA, Lease Rental, CCA, Medical Facility, and PF as per SBI rules.

Selection Process

The selection of Circle Based Officers (CBO) involves the following stages:

  • Phase 1: Online Examination: Includes an Objective Test (120 marks) and a Descriptive Test (50 marks).
  • Phase 2: Screening: Documents and experience profiles will be verified by a committee.
  • Phase 3: Interview: Candidates passing the exam and screening will be called for an interview (50 marks).
  • Phase 4: Local Language Test: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the local language of the applied circle (waived for those who studied the language in 10th/12th standard).

  • Go to the "Current Openings" section and find "Recruitment of Circle Based Officers".
  • Click on "Apply Online" and complete the registration process.
  • Fill in all required details, including personal info, educational qualification, and experience.
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and required documents (ID proof, Experience certificate, etc.).
  • Pay the application fee online through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
  • Submit the application form and take a printout of the system-generated form and fee receipt.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates can apply for only one circle.
  • Proficiency in the local language of the selected circle is mandatory.
  • Existing SBI employees in clerical or officer cadres are not eligible to apply.
  • Ensure all documents are uploaded in the correct format as specified in the notification.
