NALCO Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Recruitment 2026 Notification Overview
The National Aluminium Company (NALCO), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, is inviting applications from bright and energetic engineering graduates for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET). This recruitment drive aims to fill 110 vacancies across Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical disciplines. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in GATE 2025 followed by a personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Full-time regular Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks for UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD.
- The qualification must be from a recognised Indian University or AICTE-approved institution.
- Candidates in their final year may apply, provided they achieve the required percentage by the time of the personal interview.
- Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have qualified for the GATE 2025 examination in the relevant paper (ME/EE/CH).
Age Limit (as on 22/01/2026)
The maximum age limit for general candidates is 30 years. Age relaxations apply as per Government of India guidelines:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD (UR): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Departmental Candidates: No upper age limit
Salary and Training Period
Selected candidates will undergo one year of on-the-job training. During this period, they will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 40,000 – 3% – Rs. 1,40,000/-.
- Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 40,000/- per month.
- Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), perquisites under the cafeteria approach, medical facilities, and performance-related pay (PRP).
- Post-Training: Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Managers at E1 grade in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000 - 3% - 1,80,000/-.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two main stages:
- GATE 2025 Score: Initial shortlisting will be based on the marks secured in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview in a ratio of 1:10 based on discipline and category.
- Final Merit List: Prepared with 90% weightage given to GATE 2025 marks and 10% weightage to the Personal Interview.
