NABARD Development Assistant Recruitment 2026 Notification Overview

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Development Assistant and Development Assistant (Hindi) posts for the year 2026. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Development Assistant: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (Pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates).
  • Development Assistant (Hindi): Bachelor's Degree from a recognised University in English/Hindi medium with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects with minimum 50% marks.
  • Computer Knowledge: Candidates must possess knowledge of word processing on a PC.
  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the official language of the State they are applying for (read, write, speak, and understand).

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 35 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PWBD: 10-15 years) as per Government rules.

Salary and Allowances

Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 20,700 - 55,700. The initial monthly gross emoluments will be approximately Rs. 46,500/- per month. Perquisites include reimbursement of petrol for vehicles, briefcase allowance, newspaper allowance, dispensary facilities, and interest-free festival advance.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three distinct stages:

  • Stage I: Preliminary Examination (Online): Objective type test consisting of English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning. This stage is qualifying in nature.
  • Stage II: Main Examination (Online): Objective and Descriptive tests. Marks obtained in this stage are considered for final merit listing.
  • Stage III: Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Candidates who qualify in the Main exam must undergo a language proficiency test in the official language of the applied state.

  • Go to the "Career Notices" section and click on the recruitment link for Development Assistant 2026.
  • Click on "Click here for New Registration" and enter basic details to generate a Registration Number and Password.
  • Login and fill in the educational details and professional experience.
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and hand-written declaration.
  • Pay the application fee using online payment modes (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking).
  • Preview the application form and click "Submit".
  • Download and print the application form for future reference.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates can apply for only one post (either DA or DA Hindi) and for only one State.
  • Ensure the mobile number and email ID provided are active until the completion of the recruitment process.
  • A 1/4th negative marking is applicable for every wrong answer in the objective tests.
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Examination only.
