Indian Army NCC Special Entry Recruitment 2026 - Notification Overview
The Indian Army has officially released the notification for the Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) NCC Special Entry Scheme. This entry provides an opportunity for NCC C certificate holders to join the Indian Army as Commissioned Officers. The training for the selected candidates will commence in October 2026 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, for a duration of 49 weeks.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)
- Minimum Age: 19 Years
- Maximum Age: 25 Years
- Date of Birth Criteria: Candidates must be born not earlier than 02 July 2001 and not later than 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).
- Note: The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary School Certificate will be the only document accepted for age verification.
Educational Qualification & Eligibility
For NCC 'C' Certificate Holders:
- Education: Degree of a recognised University or equivalent with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years.
- Final Year Students: Those in the final year are allowed to apply if they have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years. They must complete the degree before October 2026.
- NCC Service: Should have served for a minimum of two/three years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
- Grading: Must have obtained a minimum of 'B' Grade in the 'C' Certificate Exam of NCC.
For Wards of Battle Casualties:
- Education: Degree of a recognised University or equivalent with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks.
- NCC Certificate: NCC 'C' Certificate is NOT required for Wards of Battle Casualties.
- Eligibility: Only unmarried sons and daughters (including legally adopted) of Army personnel killed in action, died of wounds, or missing are eligible.
Application Fee
- There is no application fee for the Indian Army NCC Special Entry recruitment.
Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 56,100/- per month during the training period. Upon successful commissioning, the pay scale will be as follows:

Allowances: Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15,500/- per month, Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other field area allowances as per government norms. The approximate CTC on commissioning is 17-18 Lakh per annum.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting of Applications: Based on the NCC 'C' Certificate grade and Graduation percentage. Bonus marks are awarded for 'A' grade in NCC and higher academic percentages.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a two-stage selection process at Selection Centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar). This lasts for 5 days.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination.
- Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks.

- Complete the registration process and log in to your account.
- Click on 'Apply Online' under the Dashboard.
- Select 'Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course'.
- Fill in the personal, educational, and communication details carefully.
- Submit the application and download two copies of the system-generated application form for future reference.
Important Instructions
- Only one online application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation.
- Ensure that the name and date of birth match the Matriculation certificate exactly.
- Candidates must carry original documents and self-attested copies to the SSB interview.
- DigiLocker certificates are not accepted as substitutes for original certificates during the interview.
- The Short Service Commission is for a period of 10 years, extendable up to 14 years.
