Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For Indian Economic Service (IES): Candidates must possess a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, or Econometrics from a recognised university.
- For Indian Statistical Service (ISS): Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects, OR a Master's Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics.
Age Limit (as on 1st August 2026)
The age requirements for candidates are as follows:
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1996 and not later than 1st August 2005.

Application Fee

Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed to the Junior Time Scale of the Indian Economic Service or Indian Statistical Service. The pay scale follows the 7th Pay Commission recommendations for Group 'A' Central Civil Services, including various allowances such as DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a two-stage process:
- Part I: Written Examination - A conventional (essay) type examination carrying a maximum of 1000 marks.
- Part II: Viva Voce (Personality Test) - Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for an interview carrying 200 marks.
