Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 07.02.2026)
- The maximum age limit is 45 years. Candidates must be born on or after 8th February 1981.
- OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation.
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
- PwBD & Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines (Max age 50 years).
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Pass in SSLC (10th Class) and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the relevant trade.
- Experience: Minimum of three years post-qualification experience or training in the relevant trade.
- Note: Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961 will be treated as experience for meeting eligibility requirements.

Salary & Allowances
Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration as follows:
- Basic Consolidated Pay: Rs. 23,300/- per month.
- Compensation for Extra Hours: Up to Rs. 5,830/- per month.
- Total Maximum Monthly Pay: Up to Rs. 29,130/-.
- Additional Benefits: Candidates with prior experience in CSL or similar shipyards may be eligible for higher pay as per rules.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on the following method:
- Practical Test: 100 Marks.
- The practical test will be held at CSL, Kochi.
- Candidates must pass the Practical Test with minimum qualifying marks (50% for General/EWS, 45% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD).
- Rank lists will be prepared based on marks secured in the Practical Test.

Important Instructions
- The contract period is for a maximum of five years based on project requirements.
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Candidates currently working on the rolls of CSL as Fabrication or Outfit Assistants are not eligible to apply.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the selection process.
