Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2026 Notification Overview
The Indian Navy has announced 260 vacancies for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers for the course commencing in January 2027 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Age Limit (Branch-Wise)
Candidates must be born between the following dates (both dates inclusive):
- Executive GS(X), Engineering GS, Electrical GS: 02 Jan 2002 to 01 Jul 2007
- Pilot & Naval Air Operations Officer: 02 Jan 2003 to 01 Jan 2008
- Air Traffic Controller (ATC) & Education: 02 Jan 2002 to 01 Jan 2006
- Logistics: 02 Jan 2002 to 01 Jun 2007
Educational Qualification
- Executive Branch: B.E/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. For Pilot/ATC/Observer, 60% aggregate in Class 10 and 12 with 60% in English is mandatory.
- Logistics: B.E/B.Tech (First Class) OR MBA (First Class) OR B.Sc / B.Com / B.Sc(IT) with First Class and PG Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain OR MCA/M.Sc(IT) with First Class.
- Education: M.Sc/M.A/B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in relevant subjects with minimum 60% marks. Candidates must have 60% marks in Class 10 or 12.
- Technical Branch (Engineering/Electrical): B.E/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in relevant streams like Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, etc.

Salary and Allowances
The initial gross salary for a Sub Lieutenant in the Indian Navy starts from approximately Rs. 1,25,000/- per month. This includes basic pay and various allowances. Additionally, the following special allowances are applicable after successful completion of training:
- Pilot / Naval Air Operations Officer Allowance: Rs. 31,250/-
- Submarine Allowance: Rs. 31,250/-
Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the Indian Navy SSC Officer post is based on the following stages:
