Educational Qualification
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): Three years full-time Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- Technician Apprentice (Electrical): Three years full-time Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Technician Apprentice (T&I): Three years full-time Diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation, or Telecommunication Engineering.
- Trade Apprentice (Assistant-HR): Full-time Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) from a recognised university.
- Trade Apprentice (Accountant): Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com).
- Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate).
- Domestic Data Entry Operator: 12th Pass with a Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operation.
Age Limit (as on 31/01/2026)
Candidates must fall within the following age brackets to be eligible for the apprenticeship:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years
- Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and 10 years for PwBD candidates is applicable as per government rules.

Selection Process
The selection of apprentices for the IOCL Pipelines Division will be conducted through the following stages:
- Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification.
- Tie-Breaking: In case of a tie, the candidate older in age will be preferred. If the age is also the same, matriculation marks will be considered.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents for verification.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must be declared medically fit as per IOCL standards.
- No Exam/Interview: There will be no written test or personal interview for these posts.
Salary & Training Duration
- Stipend: Monthly stipend will be paid as per the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and subsequent amendments.
- Training Period: The duration of the apprenticeship training is 12 months.
- Other Benefits: No other allowances like HRA, medical, or transport will be provided.

Eligible candidates must follow this two-step registration process:
- Step 1: Portal Registration
- Trade Apprentice (DEO) must register on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in).
- Technician and Graduate Apprentices must register on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in).
- Step 2: IOCL Portal Application
- After portal registration, visit the IOCL Pipelines recruitment website.
- Complete Part-I Registration with basic details and create a password.
- Complete Part-II Registration by uploading a scanned photograph and signature.
- Fill in educational and experience details and submit the application.
- Print the final application form for future reference.
Important Instructions
- Candidates can apply for only one Trade Code.
- Higher professional qualifications like B.E., B.Tech, MBA, CA, or LLB are not eligible for these posts.
- Candidates with one year or more of work experience after qualification are not eligible.
- Engagement as an apprentice does not guarantee permanent employment in IOCL.
