Educational Qualification
- Agniveer SSR (Medical): Candidates must have qualified 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a recognised board with at least 50% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 40% in each subject.
- Agniveer SSR: 10+2 qualification with required subjects from a recognised board.
- Agniveer MR: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th) examination from a recognised Board of School Education.
Age Limit
Candidates must satisfy the following age criteria to be eligible for the 02/2027 batch:
- Candidates must be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive).

Salary and Allowances
Agniveers in the Indian Navy are entitled to a structured pay scale and additional benefits:
- Stipend: Rs. 14,600/- per month during the initial training period.
- Post-Training Pay: Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs. 21,700 – Rs. 69,100).
- Allowances: Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 5,200/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (DA).
- Benefits: Free books, uniforms, food, accommodation, medical treatment, and insurance cover of Rs. 75 lakhs.
Selection Process
The recruitment follows a multi-stage selection process to ensure the best candidates are chosen:
- Stage I: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) – A computer-based examination with 100 objective-type questions. Subjects include English, Science, Biology (for Medical), and General Awareness. Negative marking of 0.25 applies.
- Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – Includes a 1.6 km run in 6 mins 30 secs, 20 Squats, 15 Push-ups, and 15 Bent Knee Sit-ups.
- Stage II: Written Examination – Conducted for those who pass the PFT.
- Recruitment Medical Examination – Conducted to assess physical and mental health standards.
- Final Merit List: Prepared based on Stage II performance, subject to medical fitness.
- Pre-Enrolment Medicals: Final medical check-up at INS Chilka before induction.
